Maharashtra government makes it mandatory for private doctors to be shown for duty in government hospitals
On Wednesday, the Maharashtra government issued a notification mandating private doctors to report to hospitals for the treatment of coronovirus patients in Mumbai. The government in its notification has asked private doctors who are under 55 years old and have no sympathy to report COVID-19 dedicated hospitals for treating patients with immediate effect.The administration has mandated doctors to work for 15 days to provide treatment to patients who have contracted the virus. If a doctor does not comply with the notification and fails to report to the hospital, it will revoke their medical license.
The government has implemented the Epidemic Diseases Act, Disaster Management Act and Maharashtra Essential Services Maintenance Act to issue the above orders. The government, however, has exempted doctors who may be in the high-risk category of contracting the virus. . Therefore, private doctors who are 55 years of age or older and have comorbidities are not compelled to report to COVID hospitals.
The doctors have to submit a form which includes the following details to prove their eligibility: Maharashtra Medical Council registration number, current work place, current place for posting, doctors submitting e-mailed forms to BMC's Protocol Officer Will be According to reports, there are more than twenty five thousand registered private doctors in Mumbai.
“We have asked all the private doctors, who are under 55 years of age and not comrades and who have closed their clinics due to lockdown, to work for 15 days to provide COVID-19 treatment. He will be paid and provided with protective gear, said the Director of Medical Education and Research.
In the wake of the coronovirus epidemic, many doctors had closed their clinics, threatening infection. Doctors have spoken of coming to the doctors for refusing to examine suspected COVID-19 patients showing symptoms like fever, cough and breathlessness.
